Trails and Riding Locations
Our location is an extremely convenient hub to easily access Downtown Denver within 15 minutes and Evergreen within 20. Golden is a lovely, horse-friendly city with an abundance of outdoor activities and trails! The Brill Ranch is fortunate enough to be situated near many trails and open spaces.
Westblade Park
0.4 Mile from Barn
This 20 acre park is located at 16780 Mt Vernon Road. The park has been left in its natural state other than a 3/4 mile long sidewalk and several picnic benches. There are two ponds that contain warm water species fish such as carp, catfish, crappie and the occasional bass.
South Table Mountain

South Table Mountain Park combines panoramic mesa-top views, habitat for cliff-nesting raptors and proximity for many visitors to enjoy hikes, runs and horseback rides. The mesa features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels.
Jefferson County Fairgrounds

The fairgrounds 100-plus acre complex offers convenient parking, indoor and outdoor arenas, exhibit halls, conference rooms, a campground, picnic pavilion with playground and beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains and much more. This facility offers open ride hours for their indoor arena for a small fee of five dollars.
Apex Open Space

Apex Park provides a popular, accessible foothills experience minutes from downtown Golden. A stream runs alongside a trail in part of the park, and a dense forest provides shady areas on the west end. This park is popular for mountain biking as it offers more technical trails and a steep challenge up Lookout Mountain.
W.F. Hayden Green Mountain

With more than 2,400 acres of open space, William Frederick Hayden Park on Green Mountain is the second largest park in Lakewood. The park features a challenging network of multi-use trails. The summit, at 6,800 feet, offers unique and stunning views of the Denver metropolitan area to the east, as well as high mountain peaks to the west.
